Two Questions to Stop Feeling Stuck

Sometimes I feel the grasp of retreat. The soft, dreaming time where all is quiet and  creativity is dormant. All is silent and still within.

I often feel stuck in this place. Like if I do not act soon I will crawl out of my skin.

If I listen gently, I can hear my Soul gently reminding me that it is still the dreaming time. To be silent like the woods in winter, resting in dark wisdom.

Sometimes, I make a plan and I propel myself out of this space. Sometimes this is a good response. I am finding more and more, however, that when it is time for rest and reflection inspiration is just a breath away. If I take action without first rooting into my Soul, that action will be hollow and unstable. The outcome will lack meaning.

To find what action is fruitful to take, I believe in asking the right questions. I'm inclined towards these two:

  1. What would make me feel better?
  2. What would move me forward?

The gut or heart response is the action to be taken, even if it doesn’t make any sense.

Remember, we are made of the same molecules as the earth, bound by the same rhythms of her seasons. Different seasons will yield different answers to these questions. Whatever your answer may be, trust that it is the perfect answer at the perfect time. Trust your instinct. Trust your response. Your Soul knows the answer.
