If you haven't already, you can discover your Soul Gift using the drop down menu above. Sometimes, people need more description to discover their Soul Gift. This (moderately long) blog post zooms into each, providing more detail to help you identify your Soul Gift. Pay attention to your gut reactions. If one description intrigues you, select it from the Soul Gifts drop down menu and explore further!

Initiator

Initiators recognize potential, awaken that potential in others, and then inspire them to make that potential a reality. Initiators feel the most alive when they’re uncomfortable and the future is unknown. They tend to be fast-paced movers and shakers—not always in a physical way, but more in their perception of the world. They are constantly moving through ideas, concepts, and conversations.

Initiators tend to avoid hopelessness and despair. They fear that if they fall into either one of these emotional pits, they may never come out again. The most vulnerable action for an Initiator is to stop, wait, and allow the darker emotions to surface.

Initiators usually identify quickly with their divine purpose, specifically the bits about passion and potential. The aliveness of others brings joy and a sense of belonging to Initiators. However, other types often pick the Initiator as a false front. If you think you may be an Initiator but aren’t completely sure, think about your feelings regarding hopelessness, despair, and stagnation. If extreme displays of these emotions (such as suicide, over-medication, or long periods of grief) are upsetting on a deep and personal level, you are probably an Initiator.

Messenger

Where there is need for honest reflection and acceptance, a Messenger senses it. Superficiality and in-authenticity are deeply troubling to a Messenger. Messengers remind people who they really are. Messengers feel the most alive when integrity, truth, and realness are present in themselves and others. Messengers encourage others to accept reality, even if it is hard to bear.

Messengers have difficulty working through the emotions of anxiety, humiliation, or disgrace. They fear their own lack of integrity may violate another, which disturbs them deeply. The most vulnerable action for a Messenger is to trust the power of their voice.

Of all the types, Messengers are usually the most clear about their divine purpose. If you feel very clear that you are a Messenger, then you are a Messenger. If you are unsure, ask yourself: to what degree do you value truth? To what degree does in-authenticity bother you? Messengers value truth above all else, and in-authenticity feels disruptive and annoying, like nails on a chalkboard.

Believer

Where there is need for growth, a Believer senses it and provides what is needed to make the creation a reality. Believers feel the most alive when they are contributing to a cause they believe in. They have tremendous stamina and energy, especially for a calling that stirs their Souls. They understand how to cultivate progress in practical ways and how to help others through the growing pains.

Believers tend to resist grief or deep sorrow. They fear that if they enter the endless river of tears, they may never come out again. Dealing with these emotions requires letting go. Surrender is scary for most, but for Believers it can be terrifying. The most vulnerable action Believers can take is to nourish themselves and ask for help.

Believers tend to identify with their divine purpose description, but they don’t always relate to the name. If you prefer the idea of a “builder” or a “healer,” you may be a Believer. If you find that the Believer concept is close, but doesn’t seem to encapsulate all of who you know yourself to be, you are probably a Believer.

Conduit

Conduits sense the deep longings of the Soul and draw them to the surface so they may be fulfilled. Conduits feel the most alive in moments of raw, unfiltered emotion. They are magnetic, mysteriously drawing others like the tide is drawn to the shore. Because Conduits connect intimately with the deepest desires of the Soul, shallow or surface-level desires are distressing to them.

Conduits tend to feel guilt and shame deeply and frequently, but they often do not know how to express these emotions fully. In addition, other people tend to blame Conduits for their own unfulfilled desires, especially if the other person has a need for intimacy that isn’t being met. Because Conduits often receive blame from others, facing self-imposed guilt can feel unbearable. The most vulnerable action for Conduits is to clarify what they really desire.

Conduits typically sense that they are Conduits, but they may feel some embarrassment, guilt, or shame about it. If you are experiencing these feelings or are a little fearful of your ability to influence others, you are probably a Conduit.

Guardian

When there is something sacred and precious, Guardians value it and do everything in their power to protect it. Guardians feel the most alive when they delight in what they believe to be sacred. They help others feel intimate, present, and extremely safe, although they tend to share their deeper sides only with those they trust. Of all the types, Guardians are the most willing to sacrifice themselves for what they love.

Guardians are uncommonly kind, but there is a place in their hearts where few people enter which creates for them an intense need for privacy. Guardians tend to shy away from the emotions of anger and rage. They fear that if they express those emotions fully, they may cause harm. It is extremely vulnerable for a Guardian to trust someone, especially if they have been hurt in the past.

Guardians seem to intuitively know that they are Guardians, but they sometimes feel that their divine purpose is boring. If you are feeling apathetic, or you think that your divine purpose is uninteresting, try Guardian on to see if it fits. If you think you may be a Guardian but aren’t sure, think about the thing you most love in the world. Then ask yourself, “Would I be willing to die for it if it were threatened?” Your answer to this will tell you if you are a Guardian.

Seer

With compassion and presence, Seers restore balance. Seers feel the most alive when they ride the thin space where opposite ends of a spectrum meet. They see beyond and through people, ideas, or circumstances to the context of the whole. A Seer thrives in places teeming both with life and death, places both beautiful and temporary. Unlike the other types, the Seers do not “do” anything. Instead, they are most powerful when they are completely present and fully compassionate.

Seers often resist the urge to feel emotions of jealously, judgment, or hatred. These emotions reflect our own less-than-desirable qualities and most Seers prefer instead to witness the lighter side of life. The most vulnerable action for a Seer is to allow someone into their internal musings and ponderings, thus revealing how they see the world.

Of all the types, Seers are typically the ones who think they don’t have a divine purpose at all. The Seers usually say, “I don’t think any of these really apply to me,” or “I don’t really fit.” If you are feeling a lot of aversion to being typed, or you don’t feel like you belong to any of the divine purpose types, you are probably a Seer. Try it on for a little while and see how it feels to you.

Converger

A Converger brings in new perceptions that alter reality. Convergers feel the most alive when they shift reality, creating something entirely new and previously unheard-of. They revel in the mystery, wonder, and awe of the universe.

Convergers are often accused of being poor listeners, talking “at” people rather than with people. Convergers tend to avoid the feeling of being depressed or overwhelmed. These emotions can be debilitating for Convergers, leaving them frozen. The most vulnerable action for a Converger is to stay embodied.

When they are connected to others and the world around them, they bring innovation, intimacy, and liberation. They become the dream-makers.

Convergers typically feel resonance with almost all of the divine purpose types. They have a knack for “wearing” different divine purpose types at different times. Consequently, they often feel confused at this point in the process. If you are trying to narrow down four or more types, you are probably a Converger. If you are feeling very confused, you are definitely a Converger.
